indira babbellapati - grandpa's clock

in that ticking of the clock br three generations of time br had ticked past... br with some tickings fixed firm br each ticking concealed br tireless roar of the sea br and a conundrum of emotions br time has its way of br teasing and tiring us br one fine evening during br a casual chitchat as sister br got off from the chair br she hit back at time and br the grandfather's clock- br though i had never known him br but through the clock fixed to the wall- br that seemed to chime br eternally into the wee hours br each time waking me up cruelly br from an innocent sleep br lay there in pieces... br br the pendulum, still oscillates br the conundrum, still unsolved br the flux of the sea, still echoes br though we could never manage br to get another clock br br and external surfaces br still gleam and glitter... br br 20dec2009 br 08.
