Terence George Craddock (Spectral Images and Images Of Light) - A Cup Of Wine Would I Give Thee*

May the sun ever shine br upon your hair br may stardust light your way. br So the glory you enfold br may shine forth like a rainbow br made of elfin coloured gold. br br May the wind ever cool your brow br and whisper br to you of wonders br it has seen on other days. br So you may ever walk br in a fresh tender breeze br while the wind serenades sings br for you among the enchanted trees. br br Telling you of stories as wondrous br as tints of Autumn’s falling leaves br yet amazingly diverse br like the springtime flight of bees. br br Sacred bees should fly br only to the sweetest br of wild meadow flower, br then seek out far flung blooms br treasures that grace br only secret hidden glades. br br In remembrance of starset lovers br in consecrated blessing br of their finest hour. br br Gathered nectar br mixed on nuptial wind br Greek gods br would bring to me br upon your lips br only could it br honoured be br a cup of honeyed wine br would I give to thee. br br Fain would the angels be br when I held that cup to thee. br br I would give you wine and song br to bless the startling memory br br of first reborn celestial day, br veiled in radiance, you came along. br br When you touched my heart br with a love, pure, endures ever lasts. br Took me from cold depths of stone br to a jewel, radiant shines for us alone. br br In another world we roam br always together br never more apart br br on breath of love br that endures longer br than mere mortal heart.
