never in my life could i foresee br that a school crossing guard br would be a life for me. br but looking into my grandchild's eyes br i knew it was a must br for in me he put his trust. br br then i heard of a child who died today br ' oh so young' to be taken away. br the parents and family in total grief br with no signs of any relief. br br the child had gone out to play br and the ball just slipped away. br without looking she ran to the street. br the driver saw the ball and then the feet. br tried to swerve from the child br but was traveling at forty miles. br br the child never got to see the car br or hear the screeching of the tires. br for death has no sound br it just comes and takes you down. br br that was when i knew br that a scg was what i must do. br now i like so many others br stand on a street corner br helping to keep the law and order.
