A path was drawn for his leadership, br No man had ever been more blessed, br Destined by God to loosen the grip br Of Philistine hold and grant Israel rest. br br Born through the hand of the Almighty, br To a sterile woman and set apart for God, br A Nazirite from birth, strong physically, br He sadly grew up to be a stubborn lad. br br He was weak with women and in character, br Devoid of respect and had a quick temper, br Prone to resolve all issues with anger br Through violent rage ending up with murder. br br With all his physique, he failed to free br His land Israel from her captivity. br Revenge was his focus, his main agenda br Till he fell in love with sly Delilah. br br Empty in the head and never had a plan, br Samson was a strong hunk but failed as a man. br Delilah had used him and with his sight gone, br He ended up a toy for the Philistine fun. br br At the last minute, he prayed for God's mercy, br His strength was restored albeit in futility, br He died in his blindness physically br But then he saw Truth spiritually. br br In the Book of Judges, he is remembered br As the man with potentials for great leadership, br Without God in his life, his purpose was hindered, br In death he lost that success from his grip. br br There are Samsons today, in our times. br With all their knowledge, they engage in crime, br For strength and power, dollars and dimes, br Failed leadership is a generation's slime. br br br br br br br ' 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit', says the Lord Almighty.
