A SONNET ON SUBASH br - Ramesh Iyengar br br ( A sonnet written on my student Subash) br br Rolls he a toy car like a kid br Eats candies, sweetmeat right below hid br Brings his pockets stuffed always br His large mouth now and then he fills br A glutton, nay a monster in food br Know not I, for he is no good. br Childish pranks in him so many br True virtues, studious, not any. br Eating his passion, sleepy his wont br To the teacher listening he can’t. br Writing, reading, learning, doing, br all unknown for Subash; for playing br Chatting, drawing, are to all he belong br Thus, the school years go all along.
