Lonnie Hicks - Conveyings

I have taken Yesterday br wrapped it in time and space br aligned it with previous weeks and days, br inside sliver months; br br plucked stars down for your hair, br laid down silly smiles; br and lover's whisperings; br with silent sittings between you and I br cryptic written notes; br walks into fading sunlight; br gentle glancings br surging breathings br hands outreaching br and they'll all not br convey br the way it was br and will be. br br I'll not count the fathoms deep br I've seen in your eyes; br from my dingy br floating here br with me my hands raised br in sweet surrender. br br I'll not measure br the paper thin br separation between us br causing electricity itself br to jump the gap br make the spark br and you say' did you do that? ' br br 'No, ' I said 'but we did.' br br I'll place awe, my own, br into the center of things br when I see and feel br our two souls br cross the paper thin; br each soul br becoming the other one's; br each sigh is born br first a tiny trembling br and later the raging br body-storm br . br 'Some things' she said 'are known or felt br and some are revealed to us.' br I said 'Yes, for me it is humility br when shown br that which is larger than anything known br in individual philosophies; br in this we are shown br another world br through br that portal br labeled 'Love' s Call.
