Samuel Taylor Coleridge - Imitated From Ossian

Samuel Taylor Coleridge - Imitated From Ossian

The stream with languid murmur creeps, br In Lumin's flowery vale: br Beneath the dew the Lily weeps br Slow-waving to the gale. br br 'Cease, restless gale! 'it seems to say, br 'Nor wake me with thy sighing! br The honours of my vernal day br On rapid wing are flying. br br Tomorrow shall the Traveller come br Who late beheld me blooming: br His searching eye shall vainly roam br The dreary vale of Lumin.' br br With eager gaze and wetted cheek br My wonted haunts along, br Thus, faithful Maiden! thou shalt seek br The Youth of simplest song. br br But I along the breeze shall roll br The voice of feeble power; br And dwell, the Moon-beam of thy soul, br In Slumber's nightly hour.
