As when a child on some long winter's night br Affrighted clinging to its Grandam's knees br With eager wond'ring and perturbed delight br Listens strange tales of fearful dark decrees br Muttered to wretch by necromantic spell; br Or of those hags, who at the witching time br Of murky midnight ride the air sublime, br And mingle foul embrace with fiends of Hell: br Cold Horror drinks its blood!
