Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin - The Coach Of Life

Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin - The Coach Of Life

Although her load is sometimes heavy, br The coach moves at an easy pace; br The dashing driver, gray-haired time br Drives on, secure upon his box. br br At dawn we gaily climb aboard her br We're ready for a crazy ride, br And scorning laziness and languor, br We shout: 'Get on, there! Don't delay!' br br But midday finds our courage wane, br We're shaken now: and at this hour br Both hills and dales inspire dread. br We shout: 'Hold on, drive slower, fool!' br br The coach drives on just as before; br By eve we are used to it, br And doze as we attain our inn. br While Time just drives the horses on.
