Bright yellow flower br dazed...standing in a vase br br tries to remember br br a blueness of sky...lost now br beyond the great window pane. br br Tries to remember br a joy of sweet falling rain br br lost now on the glass br br & yet...the memory of it br persists...pursues it...& yet br br tries to remember br the pleasure in being a seed br br roots reaching into br a sheer richness of darkness br br & its opening into sun br br tries...remembers the br playfulness of butterflies br br clouds chasing a cloud br winds scattering tiny stars br br across the beauty of a night br br tries &...remembers br the wonder of a bird’s song br br the sun forever br almost just...just...out of reach br br the sudden silence br after the storm is gone and...and br br flower bows its head. br br br The new young maid is scolded br for not changing the vase.
