Sara Teasdale - Nightfall

Sara Teasdale - Nightfall

WE will never walk again br As we used to walk at night, br Watching our shadows lengthen br Under the gold street-light br When the snow was new and white. br We will never walk again br Slowly, we two, br In spring when the park is sweet br With midnight and with dew, br And the passers-by are few. br I sit and think of it all, br And the blue June twilight dies,— br Down in the clanging square br A street-piano cries br And stars come out in the skies.
