Nancy Fotheringham Cato - Willy-Wag and Sparrow

Willy-wag and Sparrow br sat on a stone. br Said Willy, it's cold br when the sun is gone. br br But my heart beats hot br in my white silk breast; br time enough later br for me to rest. br br Said Sparrow, It's dark br in the green willow, br and the cat may lurk br in the shade below. br br He fluffed his feathers br and shook his head; br by now the others br are safe in bed. br br Said Willy, the sky br is full of light, br and a juicy fly br is quickly caught. br br I'll flirt my fan br awhile the cold, br and I won't go in br till the moon is gold. br br Said sparrow, the tree br is full by now, br and I'm off to my perch br on the topmost bough. br br But Willy said, whether br it's dark or light, br if I feel like singing br I'll sing all night.
