I have no children: br br But tonight a poem came br in which a small child, br my daughter, appeared at the door br of a half-lit room br where late one night I wrote br at a heavy desk. br br And though interruption br was hardly welcome br I took her to myself, br just as the poem, br comforted this daughter br until she found peace. br br The poems as the children br come as they will come.
