Dinah Maria Mulock Craik - Buried To-Day

Dinah Maria Mulock Craik - Buried To-Day

February 23, 1858. br br BURIED to-day. br When the soft green buds are bursting out, br And up on the south wind comes a shout br Of village boys and girls at play br In the mild spring evening gray. br br Taken away br Sturdy of heart and stout of limb, br From eyes that drew half their light from him, br And put low, low, underneath the clay, br In his spring--on this spring day. br br Passes away br All the pride of boy-life begun, br All the hope of life yet to run; br Who dares to question when One saith 'Nay.' br Murmur not--only pray. br br Enters to-day br Another body in churchyard sod, br Another soul on the life in God. br HIS Christ was buried--and lives alway: br Trust Him, and go your way.
