Alan Dugan - On Being A Householder

Alan Dugan - On Being A Householder

I live inside of a machine br or machines. Every time one br goes off another starts. Why br don’t I go outside and sleep br on the ground. It is because br I’m scared of the open night br and stars looking down at me br as God’s eyes, full of questions; br and when I do sleep out alone br I wake up soaking wet br with the dew-fall and am br being snuffed at by a female fox br who stinks from being skunked. br Also there are carrion insects br climbing my private parts. Therefore br I would find shelter in houses, br rented or owned. Anything that money br can build or buy is better than br the nothing of the sky at night, br the stars being the visible past.
