Juan Olivarez - Death Passes By

A vast endless sea of sand beyond br The blue grey hills, bathed in the sun br Creosote bushes dot the line br Of a bleak horizon, where heat waves shine br br Nothing stirs the sun so cruel br No breeze at all to keep me cool br I walk alone in the desert free br Of all my troubles in this endless sea. br br The desert is full of life they say br But Death is the one that comes my way br Sidewinding down an ancient hill, br Forked tongue flicking, I stand so still. br br Death passes by and looks at me br The rattles silent, no need to flee br Death travels by and goes his way br I live to walk another day. br br 41910 29 palms ca.
