Robert Crawford - An Aspiration.

Robert Crawford - An Aspiration.

Music, with the tears in it, br Through my soul is ringing, br Moods like bodies flame and flit br Through the spirit's singing; br Dream-birds half-articulate, br Which no charms can capture, br Come by twos and nest and mate br In a moment's rapture. br Now I seem to be upborne br On a starry pinion br Where the poet's hope forlorn br Has divine dominion — br Where he sees the clouds of earth br Gather light and cluster, br As babes on the dawn of Birth br Watch the visions muster! br All that thought and feeling share br In a soul's possession br To my singing seems to bear br A divine confession; br As within my dreaming brain br Lips of inspiration br Breathe the beauty gone again br On a new creation.
