Robert Crawford - Inspiration.

There's a wind that sweeps through the day and night, br And like the lightning goes, br But none have heard the sound of its wings, br And none know whither it blows; br But where'er it comes the thoughts of men br Are like clouds together hurled, br As they are carried with mystic speed br Over the crazy world. br We see no waving of leafy boughs, br Nor heave of the purple sea; br When this wind its fiercest blows, the Earth br May be still as the dead men be; br But the spirit feels its fiery breath br And the souls of men are stirr'd, br As o'er the mesmeric lines of life br Is flashed the magic word.
