Leslie Alexis - Earthly Things Fail To Describe You

Leslie Alexis - Earthly Things Fail To Describe You

I cannot think of anything worthy br Of describing you. I thought of the way the br River flows, then I remembered when its br Banks overflowed, causing great havoc in br Many lives, to me such said of you, br Would be blatant lies. Then I thought of the br Spring, the beauty it brings: in flowers - br So beautiful, and in birds that sing br Harmoniously with each other, evoking br Smiles. Then I remembered, it is only one br Season, one fourth of the year, and I was saddened. br For In my visions of you, you are always there. br Then I thought of the rainbow, with br Colors - so radiantly magnificent, br Then I remembered, it’s only a mere br Reflection of beauty - taking from another. br But your beauty comes from within, and your br Smile stands on its own. Then I attempted br To liken you to the sun, the way it br Brightens the day, then I reminisced br On how you also brighten my nights, br Even more so than the day… you are my light. br br In my quest to find the words that adorn br You, I came up undone. Yes, you were born br Of man, and may die a death like man too. br But to this day, man is yet to find br Words that communicate the heart and mind br Allied, describing the essence of you; br Save but one: God. He made you – complete.
