Vaughn Bekker - Badger

Vaughn Bekker - Badger

He runs through the deserts wild and free br Chasing after the honey bee br Even when it’s to his demise br Honey seems to be his ultimate prize br br He wakes up proud the day to meet br With soft desert sand under his feet br I never knew a creature so tough could be br That even from danger he would not flee br br With his unassuming thick fur coat br Through the desert he seems to float br He scratches around for what he can find br Doesn`t really matter, he does not mind br br In the day he eats as if he were ten br And then at night he digs his den br So when He then curl`s up to sleep br Under the sand so warm and deep br br Snuggled up in a bundle of fur br The day starts to fade and completely blur br Tired and confident he lays his head br Deep in the sand where he`s made his bed br br He`s dreams are filled with only one thing br Out of which tree stump the honey will spring br So tomorrow his search will resume br Hopefully it won`t be to his tomb br br So as the sun rises in the east br He heads out to find his feast br So even if a snake his path did take br A sure meal out of it he would make br br A more tenacious creature i have never seen br A stronger character there has never been br No matter what animal seems to draw near br He just refuses to show any fear br br Even a predator who thinks he`s found a prize br Had better watch out, it’s in for a surprise br So even when at a leopards feet he does lie br He won’t roll over, he refuses to die br br He will struggle and fight right to the end br A very strong message he does send br That the next time a badger you do see br You better be smart and leave him be br br So if ever you see him cross the sand br Running as if he owned the land br Look and know that what you see br He is the king of the honey beebr br Vaughn Bekkerbr br
