This poem is dedicated to the fond memory of my father who left this world almost twenty-two years ago. It feels like yesterday whenever I think of him. br br br Come Back With a Smile! br br br Come back with a smile! br You would always say – br whenever I left for school. br br A smile you perpetually had br on your face each day – br for you knew how to celebrate life. br br You taught me to dream; br you taught me to walk; br you taught me to smile; br you taught me to laugh. br br Your caring words; br your comforting voice – I no longer hear. br Your absence I feel each and every moment. br br Come back with a smile! br You would always say – br whenever I left for college. br br And I always came back br with a smile each day – br waiting to hear your caring words br and comforting voice again. br br You made me fall in love with numbers; br you helped me hone my linguistic skills; br you made me appreciate every kind of music. br With you it was never-ending fun. br br Your positive frame of mind; br your undying passion for life; br your calm and cool demeanour - br I still see in your picture by the bedside. br br Come back with a smile! br I imagine you saying br even after twenty-two years br whenever your thoughts come to my mind.
