Joseph Anderson - Do You Want To Be A Poet?

Joseph Anderson - Do You Want To Be A Poet?

Do you want to be a poet? br So do I. Come with me; br We may soar among the masters br On the wings of imagery, br If we weave our mother language br Into strands of poetry. br br We may hear a Whitman singing, br By ''the road less traveled on''; br We may hear the verses ringing, br By immortals, who are gone. br We may weave a line eternal. br Oh! I hear the sirens song. br br If we seek this road to travel, br We may need a little shove br And some further inspiration br From the powers up above; br As we labor with our passion, br In the sunlight of our love. br br I know it won't be easy, br Though the metaphors are free. br Can you hear the muse now calling? br Grab your pen and follow me; br 'Let us then be up and doing' br Ah! Sweet realm of poetry.
