O Sudhir Janardhanan - Chasing the Monsoon

The air hot, hangs humid and dense br The earth’s waiting, all eager and tense br A pregnant cloud in the sky, roves br Across the suns feature it moves br br Lighting display begins the show br Thunder in the rear, flaunt, to follow br The light slashes through the dull sky br Lighting hides the sun, a halo in the sky br br The earth knew of the coming br Felt the proximity of the rain, arriving br It waited, with the patience of waiting br Ready, with the tolerance of the hoping br br A soft drizzle, almost a haze br Tender drops, as mist displace br The sun shades the endeavors br Of the rain coming down, in light showers br br The sprinkle pushes up dust dry br Earth jumps, eager to meet the rain try br Small freckles form on the ground, blemish br Leap as the water drops in a flourish br br Perfume, the wet earth disseminate br The taste, that fresh aroma of love made br Settle back as it wafts thru the atmosphere br See the earth under the flow tremble and quiver br br Like a lover starved of love, known unseen br The earth opens itself, sinks as if in a dream br It bears the onslaught impressive, no emotion giving br The rain pulls down trees, litter of lovers preceding br br The rain builds its crescendo, screaming shrieking br The earth bears the agony with only a deep shudder br The rain recedes, a lover spent with fury of love making br The earth bears the hurts and the pains in love giving br br I have watched this mating many a time br A voyeuristic pleasure it is all the time br The life as it is spent, to make way for the new br A love that comes and is renewed anew br br Do I love once or many more br I ask of me, this again, once more.
