Charles Dickens - A Child's Hymn

Charles Dickens - A Child's Hymn

Hear my prayer, O heavenly Father, br Ere I lay me down to sleep; br Bid Thy angels, pure and holy, br Round my bed their vigil keep. br br My sins are heavy, but Thy mercy br Far outweighs them, every one; br Down before Thy cross I cast them, br Trusting in Thy help alone. br br Keep me through this night of peril br Underneath its boundless shade; br Take me to Thy rest, I pray Thee, br When my pilgrimage is made. br br None shall measure out Thy patience br By the span of human thought; br None shall bound the tender mercies br Which Thy Holy Son has bought. br br Pardon all my past transgressions, br Give me strength for days to come; br Guide and guard me with Thy blessing br Till Thy angels bid me home.
