Farewell, fair castle! on thy lordly hill br Firm be thy seat and proud thy station still, br Soft rise the breezes from the vale below, br Bright be the clouds that wander o'er thy brow; br O'er the broad lands that form thy wide domain br Short be the winter, long the summer's reign. br Pilgrim of pleasure to thy stately towers, br Fain would I leave among thy friendly bowers br Some votive offering ere on my way, br With many a backward glance, I turn to stray.
