Ryan Collins - A Poem For the Everyday Routine College Student

Days roll by with endless work here br I know it is not much as it appears br But if you were sitting here, if you were me br With this clock ticking by you would see br That it truly isn’t easy br “All work and no play makes jack a dull boy” br Same here goes for me; where there’s no company or joy br Alone with a desk and a notebook filled with paper br And it’s true, the silence makes it harder br Music should fill the air br Laughter should break out everywhere br There should be dancing all around br Not this room, empty of all sound br Only a couple more days left br Although this work is committing theft br So now I think it’s time to close the book br And end the work that has always been the crook br Let me enjoy the next few days br I’ll go outside and enjoy the sun’s rays br Goodbye chair, notebook, and boredom br Hello to a new day with its new freedom br br Written: November 18,2010br br Ryan Collinsbr br
