Linda Ori - ' WINTER CHILL

Linda Ori - ' WINTER CHILL

There is a heaviness in the silence..... br Crystal flakes descend br Like a million tiny diamonds br Spilling from the heavens; br I can almost hear them falling..... br Whispering through the chilly air br Landing softly all around me, br Covering signs of autumn's demise; br br There is a heaviness in the silence..... br Creeping across meadow and woods, br Creating a winter wonderland br Of broken branches, dead trees br Now snuggling beneath a snowy blanket br Preparing for a long winter's nap; br Drowsiness descends upon me br As I, too, anticipate sleep; br br And I become one with the snow, br With the trees, the frozen earth br And the heaviness of the frosty air br As it enters my lungs and stings my nose; br Mesmerized by the pure majesty br Of winter's pristine beauty, br Of new fallen snow glistening br In the fading light of a smoldering sunset; br br There is a heaviness in the silence..... br And a heaviness in my soul.
