Jonathan french - Caroline

Jonathan french - Caroline

He walked the low-sunned orchard br Through a winter-shadowed maze br Trod the leafy, apple mulch br Imagined August days br Of Caroline and Ridgeway walks br And soft-skin, cotton miles br Of dancers' legs and lovers' grass br And apres-passion smiles br br He stepped the leafless, tangled aisles br That stretched the dormant trees br Held an apple blossom kiss br That rode the memory breeze br He cast a dreamer's, statue stare br As a bleeding sun lay down br Watched the sky entice the dusk br In a flaming, turquoise gown br br He fell so deep in Caroline br Yet held no ached despair br So gently touched those moments as br Her scent engulfed the air br But as the shadows merged to one br And brilliance fell to grey br Then chilled those warming memories br That held the grief at baybr br Jonathan frenchbr br
