Joseph Anderson - A Dogs Life

Joseph Anderson - A Dogs Life

In an attempt to lighten up my poem site I offer br this doggeral style ditty about my neighbor's dog- br br I used to range those farming fields, br It became my daily habit; br And oft when roaming far and wide, br I'd catch a big fat rabbit. br br Every possum, skunk and cat I saw br Were always under siege. br I'd chase them til completely pooped br Then sit and scratch my fleas. br br But, then my master moved to town, br Oh! What a dreadful change; br Now, I am tethered to a leash, br No longer can I range. br br I cannot run, or bark, or jump br But, in neighbor's yard I poop. br My master, though required by law br Does not own a pooper-scoop. br br They call me Rover, though I can't, br That causes me much strife. br At last I've learned why one would say br 'I'm leading a dog's life'.
