Falling Leaves br br I watch the dying leaves, fall from the tree, br And I wonder if there is more, that I can't see. br br Are they Gods colorful martyrs, left dead on the ground br Like wounded soldiers of war, saving all they're around br br For if it's their life that they have given br For the life of the tree, do they go to heaven? br br It seems to me that's the reason they die, br And with that thought, sorrow fills my eye. br br But when I think of what they've done br Giving up their life as others begun. br br Then I smile with my own thoughts of spring, br For, to the tree, beautiful new leaves it will bring.
