Leah Ayliffe - Wilting Life

Leah Ayliffe - Wilting Life

To wander in the distance, over a petal of a rose br In deep thought of what has been br Or what has not br Drifting in an ocean that hugs earths’ surface for eternity br The mind of the heart, the heart that has bled br The colour of the moon and stars br What was holy is not sacred or valued now br Untamed and wild, the nature of the seed that grows br The weeds of dandelions reach for the sun br And cry in the night br Swaying with the wind that blows furiously br Rocking back and forth like a cradle br Whispers of a dream which echoes in the breeze br But the silence leaves the air dead br Lift it from the root and discard of the remains br As the sea carries the soul violently to a new world br Yet before its death did seeds take flight br Landing in a vast field; creating new life br a slave for eternity to the sunbr br Leah Ayliffebr br
