Michael Micmac Mccrory - Daft old Bill

“DAFT OLD BILL” br br I look up at the sky and think br What is it that poets see in you? br For all I can see br Is one massive blob of blue br br There it is, the poet’s ‘lonely cloud’ br To describe it, he takes great pains br But! All it does for me br Is, to open up and pour with rain br br Then he says, ’he’s in such a jocund company’ br And speaks of golden daffodils br ‘In sprightly dance‘ which he then dances with br For god’s sake bill keep taking the pills br br Next, he talks of, ‘the bliss of solitude’ br ‘Dancing with flowers’ No wonder he’s alone br ‘His heart with pleasure fills’ br As he ‘twinkles on the milky-way’ Via the twilight zone br br So if you see someone ‘fluttering and dancing in the breeze’ br ‘swaying with ten thousand daffodils’ br It’s only daft old bill br br “You know the old saying! If a Wordsworth is worth doing, it’s a word worth doing properly.
