ANJALI SINHA - * TO EVE WITH LOVE *

ANJALI SINHA - * TO EVE WITH LOVE *

The sea is tranquil, as we speak br And the stars, have greater skies to seek br The glassy stream quivers to the breeze br But the tormented Swan, murmurs her pleas br br As I hold you, tottering in the ward br The saints and moralists, clash on their own accord br And as the lush green of spring lies in wait br The dark hills of winter gives up its gait. br br When you are asleep during night, br Lying robed, in snowy white br The dry leaves upon your falling light br Float up and down, like the rise and fall of morn br And another day, the sun adorns. br br Who is this? And what is here? br I cannot stop, this thermal noon br Of chemo drips and laser rays br Buzzing in the hospital room br How can I tell, those southbound swans br That they must remain br In the lighted palace of royal terrain. br br I cannot, the refescent sun to pause br And dress my wounds, of sins with gauze br It hurts me when, in the white curtain, to and fro br I see the gusty shadow, sway so slow br You silently breathe, while I exist in gloom br With this frigid heap of stones, br Hoping, that red roses, mushroom and bloom. br br On a long journey, even the straw is heavy, br I cannot stop, the truculent floods or quakes br Nor hold the ululating storms at bay, br Our lives move, whilst yours rests in waiting wings br For closure of all mortal, earthly things. br br Although I know, your prison is a holy graph br And your departure tears my heart in half br The morning sun, never lasts the day br We learn, that one thing ceases and another one starts br br And adieu for evermore.
