James Casey - Waiting For Death

James Casey - Waiting For Death

Waiting For Death br br A knock sounds at my door, In breathless anticipation br I offer a brief prayer as I cross the floor br Mind reeling and my heart in agitation br I run with all haste to open the door br br Please, please, PLEASE let it be death br Will the blessed peace of death, at long last be mine? br When I open the door shall I take my last breath br Will I finally have my chance to shine br br Slowly, the door swings open, only to reveal br My old friend misery and I stand aside then usher him in br A sigh escapes my lungs, misery has for me, no appeal br What in the H is death waiting for? where has he been? br br Is he out exchanging some poor soul? br Who has been begging and pleading with him br For a few more days, offering a huge bankroll? br Probably not, death is oblivious as to where you've been br br Another knock echos against the wall br And once again I race to the door br The sweet release of death has come to call br I throw open the door to see someone whom I abhor br br An old nemesis has arrived, pain has come to wait some more br So I sit waiting, praying, and hoping with pain and misery br Waiting for death to come, Oh where can he be? br When, Oh when will come that knock on my door? br br Waiting, hoping and praying he'll come to get me br br And so go the days of my lifebr br James Caseybr br
