Lonnie Hicks - Crushing Pestle

Lonnie Hicks - Crushing Pestle

I take my habits outside br and crush them in the pestle br because they constrain my life br even as I yearn to move beyond them. br br I set aflame all my cultural presuppositions br because they prevent me from seeing. br br I take each and every thought which in the past br seemed evident br and like Einstein br ask why do I accept these ideas as true? br br I am in pursuit of my own genius br and its antecedents. br br But my pestle strategy br is seen by all as rebellious br and I am crushed low soon br by church and state. br br But visions never die br and in the dead of night br they return br asking why br tossing and turning br in my mind.
