Gabe Florsheim - Half

Gabe Florsheim - Half

A half of me wakes up at night br Set to fly with midnight crows. br For the half awake, I wait asleep, br With one eye open; one eye closed. br br With wings I wevae above the wind; br The birds surround my distant plight. br Their coos and caws contrast the dark br Attaining life for a lifeless flight. br br A transparent figure, or as to me, br Took one last glimpse at a raging sea. br Like all things come to an end- br The half with wings became unfree. br br We join abrupt, without a second br To see the sights some say they saw. br We -No, I- arise awake br Ripped awake by morning's claw. br br And now my thoughts return to birds br Who get to see what no man knows.
