Hiram Sims - What Shall they say in my Demise?

What Shall they say in demise? br Shall trumpet roar, and drummers blare br the country’s pain upon their snare? br Shall roses pour into the wind br to mark my legendary end? br Shall mourners line the city streets br to watch my coffin’s dark retreat? br When banners fill these western skies br what shall they say in my demise? br br How shall they weep upon my fall? br Will mothers scream and daughters wale? br Will Widows moan beneath their veil? br Will Fathers curse and brothers sob br amidst the sullen, angry mob? br Will preachers pray to understand br the brittle, fragile life of man? br Shall tears consume a million eyes? br What shall they say in my demise? br br What utterance will grace their lips? br Shall friends recant my noble deeds br while Catholics rub their rosary beads? br Will politicians all condone br The grace I wielded from my throne? br Shall glory and brilliance exclaim br from every mouth that speaks my name? br “Another Vain King shuts his eyes” br Are words they’ll spew in my demise!br br Hiram Simsbr br
