Elaine Macfarlane - Lifejackets

Elaine Macfarlane - Lifejackets

Some days I feel I'm drowning br sinking way down low. br Some days I feel like giving up br and think I'd like to go. br br But, looking up above me br I see a gleaming light. br I swim and kick and struggle br and push with all my might. br br As I break upon the surface br I gasp and gulp for air. br I look all around me br and can't believe what's there. br br Floating on the ocean br as far as I can see br lots of coloured lifejackets br waiting just for me. br br As soon as I get near one br they wrap themselves around br and pull my weary body br to some safer ground. br br 'Where do they come from? ' br I think I hear you say. br Well, they come from the people br I talk to every day. br br People who understand br this journey we are on. br Whether it is short br whether it is long. br br So, thank you my friends br that's all I'd like to say.
