Lizzy Scott - Sea Glass

Lizzy Scott - Sea Glass

Walking along the beach br Collecting sea glass with you. br Looking into your eyes, br So deep, so calm, so blue br br Into a glass jar these pieces go br Gently placing them inside br With the memories we both know. br br The sharp ones which are plentiful br Mean hard times we’ve endured br They cut so deeply, br They snag and catch like a lure. br br Be weary as you touch these ones, br They’re demons in disguise br If you pull away faster then should be, br They can cause more harm than needed, br They will bother you to cry. br br The round pink ones are the good times, br They’re weathered, soft to touch, br We linger in placing these in the jar, br These we appreciate so much. br br The small red ones are bits of love, br When our feelings show so true, br When life is like an endless dream br When we don’t hesitate to say I love you. br br It takes years to get these tiny gems, br The hurtful ones, the fond memories and love so true. br This bottle of sea glass is our life, br Every shape and color, a cue. br br Like a book of years together br Of memories galore br But a book only you and I can read br As this glass jar gets filled more.
