Lonnie Hicks - Gardenias Bloom-2

Your hair by the sea blew br gardenia-scented br drawing from me sudden breath br in light br summer-hued. br br Images replay; br I am shuddering; br Chalk-board mind screeching, br soul freezing br cacophonies waving mid-air. br I am grainy sand br sifting. br br My memories then engulfted me br I was again br a petal in the gardenia bloom br you wore that day; 'adieu.' br br We planned to have sailed together br Spring or Summer wed br spend the holidays Wintering; br but Fall we did br onto the Ruins of Mis-Trust, br sad flowers plucked, br seasons grayed br into cold night br we marched to the precipice; br heartache shrouded; br I a crushed-flower br shattered; br you tragic bound; br we br both left behind br wounds unhealed, br memories consigned br to the wailing room br shut away br on misty shelves br on grief-laden doilies br hoping one day each would give in br sweeping out br crevices in hearts br un-entombed br perhaps released back in time br to Lovingness br cuts healed br from time refreshed. br br But Time alone did not erase. br Pain alone is Contemplation’s Grace br ultimately br uplifting us miraculously from faded mists, br drew us here br to the same place br by accident br hearts to retrace br and test br wounds and gardenia scents; br hesitancy now embraced; br wounds un-staked; br we begin to dance here once again, br memories' waltz br in the magical air-light br br forced by circumstance br to retrace love's glance; br holding hands br we renewed br as if it were only yesterday. br I said 'I love you' br and I do br having cleaned off my doily-shelf br now un-dusty, br un-used and.blooming.
