Man is like a plot of land br That basks in God’s sunshine br Saturates itself in God’s rain br And nurtures life within itself br By means of natural laws br Which, incidentally, God made br br Land that’s full of sand and rocks br That is left alone by man br Is never tilled and never worked br Cannot produce a good harvest br But only crops of tangled thickets br And rough and prickly thorns br br But, if the rocks should be removed br And man should till the sod br Enrich the soil and plant his crops br God will send the sunshine and rain br And the same land will produce br A harvest of sweet, sweet fruits br br A human life, when blessed by God br With a knowledge of Jesus Christ br Like a field of good seeds br It is a crop, planted by God br Whose harvest depends on br How well it is worked by man br br Thickets and thorns or sweet sweet fruits br Each man, himself, must decide br A worldly life yields a worthless crop br While a life filled with Godly works br Yields a wonderful harvest br Whose lasting value can't be measuredbr br C R Clarkbr br
