Christopher's Dead - *Black

Christopher's Dead - *Black

“Forgive me, br Forgive me not” br The wind breathes br Heavy in remorse. br No one sang today, br No one cared; br And at long last br All that we remembered, br Like scattered lights br Across the horizon, br Had been patiently br And painfully forgotten. br br There was one in the road, br Though we travel, br Or lest we’d forgotten br Such footsteps br That left marks br Like contingent heartbeats, br We travel the same br Forlorn paths, br And yet we don't remember. br These grey scars br Had been patiently br And painfully forgotten. br br “Forgive me, br Release me” br The wind whispered br For uncompromised night; br And the one that took leave br To the lone tree tops, br Silhouettes cursed br Yet encased in warmth, br Its weathered façade, br Broken, still promising, br Had been patiently br And painfully forgotten. br br But deeply marred br The one that seeps, br A more blackened pulse br From beneath the ground, br As if prolonging hope, br Forgot to beget br In reverence and body. br For this the wind br Painstakingly grieves; br All is lost. br A soul that will br Forever be remembered.
