Margaret Alice Second - Sun-Kissed Mist

This morning is like a beautiful woman br wearing soft, sun-kissed mist, luminescent br pearls adorning her bejewelled wrists, as I br drive along I listen to my inner voice raised br in jubilant song… br br As I sat on mother’s bed in Oliver Tambo br Memorial Hospital, Matron Margaret Mbatha br queried me – What are you writing? – I replied: br A song to the beauty of the morning, asking – br May I dedicate it to you br br So when you Google yourself you would find br your name quoted in my poem? - Her sweet br face broke into a smile - Yes you may, but br you must go home, we’ll take care of your br mother – yet I stayed because br br I have not been with my mother for a long time, br she cries in pain from time to time, I break all the br rules in order to be with her, should they evict me, br it would be fine – I cannot leave my mother in pain br at a time like this…br br Margaret Alice Secondbr br
