Smoky Hoss - Dad

Smoky Hoss - Dad

- If there was a way - something I could maybe say - br If I could only see him here, once again; br Hear his grand laugh - see his comforting grin - br God, I know I should've been there more - br So much now I want to ask... things I truly need him for; br Oh, but then I was always too busy running - br I suppose I'm running, from myself, still. br br Ofcourse it's all now in the setting sun - br He has gone on ahead... crossed over the hill, and finished his run; br Yet, I do believe, someday, by the grace of God, br I too shall ride that final trail br When death gives me the last nod - br Then at long last we again shall meet face to face br With a wonderful embrace. br br But, until that destined time br I pray I find br A way to be, when it's all said and done, br A better father, than I ever was a son. br br I love you Dad - br I think about you every day - br I miss you more br Than I can ever find words to say.
