Swarnendu Biswas - Banalata Sen (An Inspiring Woman Character)

From the blue, widest sea to br the deep dense woods wrapping br the dark shadows, travelled i br and travelled for an uncounted years. br In the mid of Ashoka forest, br an idle soul grasped my heart, br getting me lifeless, but from there br walked i a long distance br and reached the darkest city, br where the davil sucked the vapour of life. br But, i kept searching for you, br and that survived me, Banalata. br br Thou hast the hair as a br dark shadow sleeping over the eternal night. br Thine face as like a sculpture, br carefully painted by the greatest artist of earth. br As a navigator in the mid-sea, br losing his path becomes aimless, br then thou, Banalata, directs him br the the right way to enlightened sand-bank, br like i also viewed thou in the darkness, br and thou asked me (where were you these long days?) br with the head held up as like a bird, br through the nest, peeping the outer-world. br br After the day gets tired, br comes the night to rule over with crickety. br skylark removes the sunny-smell from its wings, br where the all lights of earth gets dim and dead, then br the creator-manuscript brightened with br the evening stars and get shining like br a thrilling story being dictated. br After the birds return to their nest, br after rivers close their mirrors, br over the half-world, br spreads and lives br spreads and lives br the darkness and thou, banalata, to inspire the dead-soul. br br by Jeebanananda Das, translated by me.
