indira babbellapati - A Poem On a Wholesome Mother

'If I service five clients, ' she said br With thorough professionalism br 'My night is done br And my day is taken care of! br That breaks even br With my children properly fed! ' br She went on telling me br How as a young girl br Much before puberty br She was forced into flesh trade br Not really knowing what it's about br She tried herself, in vain, and br She looked for someone br To rescue her once she knew br Where she's forced into br By and by, she understood br That's the only option she had br And the education her body imparted br Became her intellectual property right! br 'This body, bestowed upon me br This body people called 'feminine' br Became their play field br And my bread' br br She went on br br 'Keep your moral polemics br Confined to your lecture halls! br Ashamed? Why should I? br Are you ever ashamed br To look after your child? br Why should I? ' br br And she walked away br In sheer confidence br Swinging her hip, br Probably just as I do br When I walk, to take her children br To the independence day celebrationsbr br indira babbellapatibr br
