Smoky Hoss - Homeless

Smoky Hoss - Homeless

Homeless; br - Down by the muddy Mississippi br Skinny as a rail, br Sleeping under the old Eads bridge br Feeling low, dirty, and frail - br Homeless; br - With less than two coins br In both pockets, br Empty eyes br Look through sunken sockets - br Homeless; br - So many people walk right on by br I wonder how many care, br They all keep moving br Even though they stare - br Homeless; br - Lost a job br Lost a home, br Lost a family br Lost all hope - br Homeless; br - Where will I go from here br What should I do, br I'm so thankful when the weather's fair br And the skies are blue - br Homeless; br - Don't know the day nor season br And, yea, it sure gets cold at night, br I've got an old sleeping bag br I'll be alright - br Homeless; br - There's so many of us out here br Without a home, br Even so br I feel so very alone - br Homeless; br - It's a tough situation br Not pretty, just true, br And at any time br It could happen to you - br Homeless; br - Hey buddy... br Could you spare a dime, br And say a prayer for us br ... sometime - br - I'm just homeless, not less human...
