Leslie Alexis - Passing Time

Leslie Alexis - Passing Time

I desperately miss the hop of spring br The verve of blossoming bluebells br They meet midday sun with a smile br br The buzz of a thousand tiny tipsy bees br Drunk from beauteous bounty of flowers br At the furthest distance mile after mile br br The frenzy of flocking butterflies br Childlike in their play they color the sky br Miss the miracle if you blink awhile br br The bush on the path refuses to die br Anxious seeds swollen from winter br Lay on a bed that they find fertile br br Now spring has passed into summer br The air’s perfumes dissipate br Fruits litter the ground in piles br br The sun tans and torches the soil br Opposing the hand of thunderstorms br Nature proves quite versatile br br The grass path is now trodden on br Sun goes to bed with the children br The land is readied for winter’s trialbr br Leslie Alexisbr br
