Lonnie Hicks - Walking Two

Lonnie Hicks - Walking Two

You walk me down the same path each time br br showing me that other world you inhabit br a thousand sights and sounds br and smells br br I am unaware of. br br You look at me with wet eyes br eager to share your various finds br and the crisp morning air br br aligns with my need to rise br for the tour br br you want to take me on. br br You're my nature guide br br and I br the student br br who never graduates br br learning each day br br from my nature dog. br You pause br each bush br of intriguing interest br br and you leave behind your scent br br I guess to establish your ownership br br then leaping along br br to the next perpendicular br br wondering why I don't br br join in leaving behind br br my own br br pee mail. br br And I think to myself br that just maybe one day br br at night perhaps br I will br br just to see br br how you'd br br react br br cause I know br br you'd never tell br br and we'd both walk away br br in the stealth of night br br comrades br br leaving behind our combined scents br br for other dogs br br to know br br don't mess with br br us br br we have left behind two scents br on this bush. br br Woff, woff br br and we then move on.
