ANDREW BLAKEMORE - Please Take This Blanket From Me

Please take this blanket from me br For I'm young and you are old, br And wrap yourself within it br To protect you from the cold, br 'Though it's all I have within this world br You need it more than I, br So take it now my gift to you br And do not question why. br br I'll see you in the morning br If we make it through the night, br It's time for us to get some rest br For soon it shall be light, br We'll sleep within this doorway br For we've nowhere else to go, br And shelter from the bitter wind br That does so cruelly blow. br br The moon does shine, the stars are clear br The winter snow lies deep, br Two lonely souls without a home br Nor bed in which to sleep, br Now lying here together br On this filthy slab of stone, br I'm glad I found a friend this night br So I'll not be alone.
